Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra are delighted to be returning once again to Cork’s City Hall on November 23rd for what has become a highlight in our yearly programme of events.
This year we present Beethoven’s much loved 5th symphony, sometimes described as his ‘Fate Symphony’ because of his famous four note opening motif, often referred to as ‘fate knocking on the door’.
Joining us for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, will be internationally renowned soloist Michael McHale. This concerto, often called the ‘Elvira Madigan’ concerto because of its use in the Swedish film of the same name, is a firm favourite with concert goers.
We will also perform Sibelius’ 7th Symphony. This work was originally styled a fantasia by the composer but later referred to as a symphony in one movement. We are very happy to be performing this work in its centenary year.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of beautiful music.
